Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A two week trip to USA via Canada started with flight to Montreal and on to Newark. Once I got tickets sorted I went south to Wilmington and picked up northbound night train to Kingston. I covered the two P42 turns from New Haven - Springfield and then went to New York and up the Hudson to Albany-Rensselaer for the night. I picked up a few new dual-mode P32 Genesis next day and then few hours with camera at Peekskill before going to Philadelphia to pick up night train to Boston. I started four days of thorough coverage of all MBTA line and based myself at a hotel in Braintree near the station. First day I did lines to Newburyport, Middleboro/Lakeville and Needham Heights. Next day I did routes to Kingston, Plymouth and Stoughton and then went Walpole to take some photos beside the classic station with a track cross over on the platforms. It was then time to do the Amtrak “Downeaster” service to Portland with premier Genesis power and then the Fitchburg branch at the end of the day. Last full day was busy day out of Boston North on my last day and the branch to Rockport and then some photos in afternoon at Waverley and Belmont. A quick trip on MBTA power before going leaving for Albany-Rensselaer and then overnight to Chicago. Two days on the Meta weekend ticket and then train 7 to St Paul for the night. Next day train 8 was diverted from Winona Junction on BNSF via Sullivan and Savannah and via Aurora to Chicago. A few minutes in Chicago for train 30 to Washington for the day and then north overnight to Old Saybrook and few moves around New Haven before heading to Newark for night. Up to New York next morning and flight home
