Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A two week trip to Latvia and Lithuania, I flew to Riga and we stayed one night there. Next day we went to Jelgava as the main line Riga - Krustpils was closed, so bonus freight action at Jelgava. After photos there we returned to Riga and after photos by the river took a diverted train via Jelgava to Daugavpils where were stayed four nights. After a trip to the DLRZ factory we drove to the magical photo spot as Skaista for a few hours. Next day was ultra busy at Krustpils (30 freights in 11 hours!). Next day a very rare quiet day on the line to Indra and a few photos later in the day at Lauri (near Livani). On the Saturday we went to Vilnius and a few hours at Vievis. The PTG Lithuania tour then started, first day we did all the branches in the Vilnius area. It was then via Utena to Daugavpils for DLRZ and LDZ depot visits and on next day to Panevėžys and narrow gauge to Rubikiai. Next it was then on to Radviliškis and the branches to Pakruojis, Akmenė, Alkiškiai, Karpėnai, Bugeniai and then to Siauliai for the night. Then on to Pagėgiai and north via Draugystė to Klaipėda. A very long day next took us to Darbėnai and then south to Jonava and the branch to Rizgonys, and from Kaišiadorys to Kybartai and back to Kaunas for the night. The final day of tour saw us got to Šeštokai and Alytus before heading to Vilnius. A few of us flew home from Kaunas next morning to finish off the trip
