Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A three week trip to Australia, flying out and back via USA (more airline mileage points). I flew out to San Francisco and stayed at Millbrae which gave me easy access to a full day on the GM power on Caltrain services next day. It was the onward flight to Sydney and a day ticket on local trains. Next day photos in Sydney at Canterbury, Marrickville and Dulwich Hill. Next day we went north for three days chasing freights on the great Hunter Valley line. We took photos at Warabrook, Beresfield, East Maitland, Hexham and Metford. On the Saturday we took quad 44 ALCOs to Kandos on the tour, opening windows and barn door made it a great but, but no photostops was bad! Next day we went to the transport museum at Thirlmere, and after another day in Sydney we flow to Darwin via Brisbane. After a free day we joined the “Ghan” for two day journey to Adelaide and onward with “Overland” to Melbourne. After a day lineside in a car I did the line to Bairnsdale as new track for me and then few more days in Melbourne area. Flew home via a stop in Los Angeles and stayed at Lancaster as new track!
