Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A very large group of us descended on Greece for the annual Greek Easier, and used the bargain value ten day Greek rover ticket. I flew out with BA and straight to Pireaus for the narrow gauge van train, it was Alsthom so flagged and I take A-554 on train 1510 from the standard gauge station. Over to narrow gauge again and train 300 arrives fifteen minutes late with three Alcos, pushing the failed freight with the Alsthom, a total of five locos on ten vans, nine coaches and a three car unit! I end up doing a trip to Lappa and back and then to Athina for the night. A full day on standard gauge in the mountains and the 604 north to Thessaloniki, and amazingly A-501 was on the train to Kozani! Never had a big MLW there before! A late arrival back in Thessaloniki put us on train 503 to Athinai with an arrival around 03.00. A few of us walked to Pireaus to attempt to sleep on train 300. It was a big train with a pair on load fourteen, went to Kourtezi then Patras and Achaia and back to Athina for hotel. Another day on main line then 604 to Thessaloniki and I finally found A-205 out on a Serres stopper to keep me entertained, then to Drama and back to Thessaloniki. Another day on main line and after a night at Leptokaria a pair of MLW to Thessaloniki and this time A-503 to Kozani! Two more main line days and then flight back home
