Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A hastily planned trip to Holland as amazingly a class 234 diesel had been fixed to work the last International train from Hoek van Holland! I sailed over from Harwich and made my way to Amersfoort to pick up the last “Warszawa - Hoek Express”. The 234 came on at Utrecht after reversal and the fun began, plenty of Kolomna smoke and hundreds of people looking amazed at the big Russian built diesel breaking totally new ground. On arrival at Hoek van Holland the loco then worked a special train of NS stock via Schiedam-Rotterdam West and Utrecht CS to Geldermalsen for a photo stop. We moved on via Tilburg to ‘s Hertogenbosch for another photo stop. Then to Kijfoek yard where 2266+2275 piloted us to Waalhaven where were reversed took the curve at Barendrecht for the run to the Hoek van Holland. The 234 then did the final “Hoek Warszawa Express”. Next day the 234 returned to Germany by working INT2245 from Hoofdorp - Bad Bentheim and was then dragged by a 110. I did some new track and some 1700 moves the next day before catching the boat back home
