Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

I made a ten day trip to Slovenia to get photos of the intense diesel action between Borovnica and Pivka which was still going on after the massive ice damage to the overhead wires in February. I flew to Ljubljana and went to Logatec for three nights. The Maribor - Koper "Pohorje" was working through with diesel pilot loco on the affected section, usually with 664, though 644 and Hercules also worked. I took photos at Logatec, Pivka, Prestranek, Verd and a few other locations. The three middle nights were at Poljčane and then I returned back to Logatec for last three nights. The diesel sounds of the 644 and 664 on the steep gradients on big heavy freights were superb. It will be quite a while before all the wires are up again, but only freight trains again from late September
