Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A very quick trip to France after I found out the 21003 (ex Amtrak X996 test loco) was working an advertised staff train from Vallorbe - Frasne. I flew to Paris and made my way to Lyon overnight and got some nice "Maurienne" green CC6500 photos on my way. On arrival at Dôle-Ville I found 21004 about to leave with an oil train to Tavaux, the friendly driver kindly took me along for the ride, sadly no photos of the event though. After a fill into trip to Besançon-Viotte I took a unit and a TGV to Vallorbe where I was delighted to find 21003 ready to work the staff train to Frasne, mission accomplished. I then sampled some 72000 diesel action and the night train from Culmont-Chalindrey to the Spanish border at Port Bou. The rest of the day was around Narbonne and then back north to Mulhouse for a few 67400 moves and then a few hours at Dôle-Ville where I found two ex DB V200 locos stabled. Overnight to Strasbourg for some moves around there on the excellent TER200 trains and then a nice four hour run on a Sybic on EC66 to Paris and then flight back home
