Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

I started a 15 day Global InterRail by flying to Budapest where I stayed the first two nights. The first day was a circular trip taking in EC344 via line 155 while it was still going that way, then the DMU from Kecskemét - Lajosmizse to cover all of line 142. The next day I went to Eger and the cross via the diesel line from Füzesabony - Debrecen where I was staying two nights. On the Sunday I went to Fehérgyarmat and then got a lift on the empty train Zajta and back as this was only way to do line loco hauled. I then suffered a hot staggering InterPici unit on the crawl from Mátészalka - Nyíregyháza! After a morning trip to Nyírábrány I made my way to Győr via Budapest where I stayed the next two nights. From Győr I travelled on the DMU only lines from Csorna - Pápa and then Csorna - Hegyeshalom and after a quick trip to Wien and Wiener Neustadt I returned to Győr. Next day was a very early start as I travelled via Salzburg and Innsbruck to Luzern for a one night stay. South via the superb Gotthard route next morning and to Milano and then via Genova and some travels south to Sestri Levante, then back to Genova for one night stay. Thello train into France and my first 36000 on the train to Nice, luckily found a 22000 working the branch to Grasse and then found rare 36023 on the other Thello turn. I stayed in Marseille two nights, another day around nice and then to Toulouse and two nights there to enjoy a good selection of classic electric hauled services. After Toulouse one night in Bordeaux and then north to Blois for two nights. Back home via Eurostar
