Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A long overdue trip to Ireland, I booked my flights carefully to get some new airports in the book. EasyJet got me started with my flight from Newcastle - Belfast International and then quite a long bus journey into the centre of Belfast. I got stuck in to the lines that I needed with a run up to Bangor and back and then a short trip to Lisburn and back with the two Enterprise diagrams. Next morning an early start to finish off the track I needed and so north to Londonderry for an hour, then to Portrush for another hour and then back to Belfast. Finally it was the line to Larne Harbour to complete the entire NIR network. The Enterprise service took us to Dublin Connolly and then with quite a few others to the Ibis Hotel at Red Cow. The two day IRRS tour started next day using four different class 071 locos on Cravens stock. The route took us from Dublin Connolly - Ballybrophy - Limerick - Cork - Mallow and Killarney where we stayed the night. A cold wet day with snow was with us on the Sunday to take us to Tralee - Limerick Junction - Waterford - Kilkenny and then back to Dublin Connolly and the end of the trip. I went south early on the Monday morning and picked up a couple of new 201s and the track from Cork - Midleton before heading to Cork airport and my flight to Liverpool
